Hi, my name is Julie Getty. Here is my story and how I became involved in healing myself the holistic way and helping other people do the same:

I was always of average weight for my height although, like many others, I always thought I could stand to lose a few pounds so I tried several diets, diet pills/aids and, yes, even contraptions! Nothing seemed to have any lasting effect.

As most of you, I have been through many trials and tribulations. Because of all the stress, I didn’t eat as healthy as I should have. As a matter of fact, I loved fast food! Hamburgers, French fries, burritos — pretty much anything deep fried — I craved it! And vegetables never crossed my lips unless it was iceberg lettuce smothered in ranch dressing. Well, that was great until I hit my late 40’s. Somehow, my joints were just not allowing me to be as active as I was used to be! In terrible pain, I couldn’t exercise, or walk even short distances. Within 4 years I had knee and hip replacements followed by two back surgeries. Needless to say that while the surgeries slowed me down, my eating habits were full-speed-ahead! Plus I was taking everything from anti-depressants to pain pills 10 to 15 different pills a day! So guess what to my surprise, I gained a LOT of weight. One day I looked in the mirror and finally faced up to the fact that I was tremendously overweight and felt simply rotten.

I knew that I had to change something because if I managed to live to retirement age, I wouldn’t be in good enough shape to enjoy it. That was the day I decided that if I wanted to feel better about myself and if I wanted my body to heal, it would take some major changes. So I’ve devoted the last couple of years regaining my health. I have lost 40 pounds and I feel better than I have in years! I am now off all medications and feeling wonderful! I get up bright and early every morning looking forward to what the day has to hold for me! And, better yet, I feel good about myself.
